Emily’s Day

Our beloved friend and volunteer Emily passed away in May of 2025. After her passing, family and friends gathered to brainstorm ideas to honor her legacy and unwavering dedication to volunteerism, a heartfelt plan began to take shape. Inspired by her spirit of giving, the community came together to create a lasting tribute.

Emily’s Day is a community-driven initiative launched by Emily’s friends and family to inspire and encourage volunteerism. Emily dedicated her life to service, actively volunteering many organizations on the Central Coast throughout her time here. Her unwavering commitment and generous spirit touched countless lives until her passing from cancer.

Emily’s Day Mission: To promote community engagement and encourage volunteerism in SLO County while recognizing outstanding community service projects.

The program provides individuals and groups with an opportunity to dedicate a day to meaningful service activities of their choosing — from BBQ fundraisers and community clean-ups to educational events and fundraising efforts. Participants will document their activities and complete a questionnaire, with outstanding efforts rewarded with an up to $1,000 grant awarded to the organization of their choice.

The Central Coast Exchange Club graciously embraced the idea and has stepped forward to host this meaningful program, ensuring Emily’s inspiring commitment to service will be remembered and celebrated for years to come.
