First Book Sale of 2021!
Join us on Saturday, May 1, 2021 for an outdoor book sale from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. The sale will take place in the library parking lot at 240 N. 9th Street in Grover Beach, just north of the post office and next to Ramona Park.
Not only is this our first book sale of 2021, May 1 is also the 17th anniversary of the library! That’s right, we opened our doors way back in 2004, before the first iPhone. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our special day than with the community that has supported us all these years.
We’ll have our famous “books by the inch” prices so you can stock up on all your favorite genres. In addition, we’ll have some fun specials designed to delight the whole family:
• A free book for every child while supplies last
• Cookbooks for only 10 cents each
• A free 1-inch stack of books with your purchase
• The ever-popular bag sale starts at 1:30 p.m. Shoppers buy a paper grocery bag for $2 and fill it with books of their choosing.
Whether it is children’s books, biographies, popular fiction, crafts, self-help, or coffee table and collectable books, we have something for the bookworm in you.
The sale is outdoors, and entry will be staggered to provide plenty of space for safe social distancing. We will also supply hand sanitizer and gloves.
In case of rain, check out our website for latest updates. For more information, send an email to Admin@groverbeachlibrary.org
Three times a year, the library holds its famous book sale. Community members of all ages gather to browse books and connect with one another. The money raised from these sales supports the library so we can continue to offer high-quality free programs for the community.
At our March, 2020 book sale, local resident Alejandra Mahoney purchased 10 boxes full of books to distribute for free to children in Santa Maria whose access to books was impacted by the school and library shutdowns in response to COVID-19. Check out the video below!
