The Grover Beach Community Library is proud to be the Featured Nonprofit at the Village Concert Series in Arroyo Grande on July 28, 2019, when the band BoomBala will be rocking the crowds at the Rotary Band Stand in the Village of Arroyo Grande. The library wishes to thank the dedicated staff and volunteers of the Arroyo Grande Village Improvement Association and the City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department for their hard work in putting on the Village Concert Series. It also extends an enormous thank you to Rabobank, the Featured Series Sponsor, and Farmers Insurance, Scott Astrosky Agency, the sponsor for the July 28 concert.

Community Appreciation Day/Library Anniversary

The Grover Beach Community Library will hold our annual Community Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 5:00 pm, at the library, 240 N 9th Street. Enjoy light refreshments and join us as we honor the recipient of this year's Mary Lee Clark Award, presented to recognize a person, persons, organization, agency or entity that has significantly contributed to the goals, enhancement, promotion, success and continued growth of the library. According to Nan Fowler, the president of the Library Board of Directors, the library was the brainchild of Mary Lee Clark who convinced her husband, Cliff Clark, to give up space in his law office for the library. The recipient of last year's award was San Luis Obispo County District 3 Supervisor Adam Hill.

Volunteer Appreciation Banquet

The Grover Beach Community Library quite simply could not exist without our many volunteers, and the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet is held each summer in their honor. This year the event will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Grover City Grange, 370 S. 13th Street, Grover Beach.

While every contribution is greatly appreciated, the library's Board of Directors uses this occasion to honor one volunteer librarian and one volunteer in general for their efforts over the past year. In 2017, Ruth Doermann was selected as Librarian of the Year, and Jessica Inglis was selected as Volunteer of the Year. Below, Ruth and Jessica receive their awards from Board President Nan Fowler.
